From Letran to E-Painters: Caloy Garcia and Raymond Almazan

 

NCAA has not ended yet but the excitement of both Coach Caloy Garcia and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters 3rd Pick Raymond Almazan for what is in store is something they both look forward to.

Garcia, who is Almazan's current coach in Letran and works as a deputy for Coach Yeng Guiao for the E-Painters believes that Almazan will not have a hard time transitioning from Letran to the pros since the two coaches run a similar system. The only thing most probably that the lead MVP candidate of Letran needs to work on to is his weight to be able to bang bodies and defend better in the PBA.

If you have watched the PBA Draft, you would remember Beau letting Raymond eat barbecue, well, Raymond will have his dose of this extra rice after NCAA ends.

Caloy Garcia is the new PBA D-League Erase Placenta Coach

 

There's a rainbow always after the rain.

Yeng Guiao's lead assistant at the PBA team Rain or Shine Elasto Painters has added another milestone to his coaching resume. Assistant Coach Caloy Garcia is the new head coach of PBA D-League team Erase Placenta replacing fellow NCAA coach Aric Del Rosario who would like to concentrate in the campaign of his Altas team in the collegiate league. 

Coach Caloy would be taking over a team which record currently  stands at 2-6 but would still have the chance to enter the quarterfinals when they sweep their last 2 games.

NCAA Coaching Changes: Caloy Garcia is Letran Head Coach, Topex back with the Stags?





Caloy Garcia is the Letran Head Coach

 Yeng Guiao's Chief Deputy Caloy Garcia is back in the NCAA coaching field as he signed a 1-year deal with Letran Knights. He would be filling in the void left by the resignation of Louie Alas. Little do we know it, Caloy was a member of the Letran Squires (High School) before joining CSB for Seniors basketball.

Update: According to Coach Caloy, the 1-year deal with Letran is not yet final.

Topex back to San Sebastian?

Reports said it, a familiar face would be back doing head coaching duties for San Sebastian Stags starting February 1. If this would push through, Topex would definitely have his hands full as Stags would have to rely on its holdovers and recruits from Stags which would not bolt out after Stags benefactor former Mayor Dennis Pineda now out of the team.
