Himig Handog 2014 Interpreters Revealed

The country's biggest songwriting competition is back after its successful staging last year with Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs 2014, The contest behind the winning song "Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa" by Aiza Seguerra and the popular "Nasayo Na Ang Lahat" by Daniel Padilla aims to bring back the glory of OPM.

This year, there are 15 finalists competing to be the grand prize winner, the mixture of veteran and new songwriters give the fresh take to this contest with the following interpreters:

Benjamin Alves lambasts Daniel Padilla's voice

 

Kapuso Actor Benjamin Alves is in hot water after an article published in Gulf News, a leading newspaper in Dubai, UAE quoting him lambasting the voice of Daniel Padilla, the singer behind Himig Handog's hit Nasayo Na Ang Lahat.

Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Winners Revealed: Daniel Padilla and Aiza Seguerra big winners

 

 

 

 

 

Aiza Seguerra's interpretation of the Jovinor Tan's song "Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa" turned out to be the biggest winner of the Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs Finals Night last Sunday, February 24. Tan wins 1 million pesos and the song is assured to be used as well with the 11 finalists of Himig Handog P-Pop on future ABS-CBN projects.

Grand Winner: Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa (Jovinor Tan) interpreted by Aiza Seguerra
2nd Best Song: Hanggang Wakas (Soc Villanueva) interpreted by Juris Fernandez
3rd Best Song: If You Ever Change Your Mind (composed and interpreted by Marion Aunor)
4th Best Song: Scared To Death (Domingo Rosco Jr.) interpreted by KZ Tandingan
5th Best Song: Kahit Na (Julius James de Belen) interpreted by Toni Gonzaga

 

The 2nd - 5th best song wins 500,000, 200,000, 150,000 and 100,000 respectively.

 

Daniel Padilla was another big winner that night winning most of the special awards. Erik Santos was the TFC Choice Award for This Song Is For You.

You have the say on who would win this year's Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs competition by voting for your favorite love song in numerous ways:

1. Purchase a copy of "Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs" CD and fill out the enclosed voting card;
    
2. Download any of the competing tracks from apple.com/itunes;
    
3. Request a song entry to be played on radio stations Tambayan 101.9 or MOR;
    
4. Cast an online vote via tfc.tv
    
5. Request the music video of a competing song to be played on music channel MYX.

Voting for your favorite finalist/s may be done until February 23, 2013 12 noon.
