Send-off for 2014 Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa

2014 Miss Universe Philippines Mary Jean Lastimosa was given her formal send-off by Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. earlier today despite the latter leaving on January 3, 2015. BPCI thought this will be a fitting Christmas Party for their adopted community in Novaliches as well as a way to invite press people before the holiday season.

Present in the send-off are MJ's Binibini 2014 Batchmates: Hannah, Laura, Parul, Kris, Yvethe and Bianca, each were given the opportunity to give their message of support.

Madam Stella Marquez Araneta also was present to give the queen a fitting message and send-off.

Venus Raj and Bianca Manalo, two previous Miss Universe Philippines are also around to support MJ. 

MJ will be off to Miami on the 3rd of January and will join all the pre-pageant activities leading to the finals night on January 25 where she hopes to succeed Gabriela Isler and be the 63rd Miss Universe.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: Can Bianca Guidotti and Yvethe Santiago do a back-to-back?

Winning the third Miss Universe crown and the first Miss Intercontinental crown may be daunting already but for Bianca Guidotti and Yvethe Santiago, winning the Miss International crown and Miss Supranational crown this year is two times the pressure. 

Bianca and Yvethe both talked about having the international winners giving them tips, which will be considered as a factor when both are in Japan and in Poland respectively. Bea Rose and Mutya will be there as VIP before they passed on their crowns and will definitely like the idea of passing it on to their Binibini sisters. But truth be told, it will be hard, there are a lot of gorgeous and equally intelligent candidates and the idea for now is for both delegates to enjoy their experience abroad.

When a back-to-back happens, these photos will be done once more with their international sashes, for now let's leave it all to preparation and fate and if they are to win back-to-back for country.

No beauty pageants for Pia Wurtzbach, for now

Pia Wurtzbach does not see herself fighting for another crown in the near future. In an ABS-CBN report, Wurtzbach admits she does not want to wait for the title for three years, She wants to cultivate her strengths being with Mercator (by her handler Jonas Gaffud) and Blue Water.

The 2013 1st Runner Up gave up her title to join Bb. Pilipinas 2014 to see if a crown was really meant for her as she was already on the Top 5 last year behind Ariella Arida, Bea Rose Santiago, Cindy Miranda and Mutya Datul but the former Star Magic Star has no regrets on trying again, even her Top 15 Q and A answer where she had to answer in Tagalog to which some netizens believed cause her the crown.

Only time will tell if Wurtzbach will come back next year, for now we'll see her actively as a model.

Bb. Pilipinas Queens Behind The Scene Training

 

If there is one thing commendable about the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 is that the batch seemed to blend well as sisters. The KF girls (Lastimosa, Shah, Janson and Sison) and A&Q girls (Guidotti, Santiago and Lehmann) left all their camp battles and work for Team Philippines. 

Here is an example of how the Binibini Ladies prepare for the pageant, strict training indeed for Miss Intercontinental, Miss Supranational and Miss International pageants.

It took me a while before your blogger from News Bits Online posted this Post Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Thoughts. I will start off with the runners-up:

HANNAH RUTH SISON (2nd Runner Up) - Hannah's placement brings me a sense of joy in such a way that I felt she deserved to be in the Top 15 last year and making it to the Top 7 is certainly a big improvement. With BPCI's age limit from 25 to 26, Hannah may just give BBP one last try next year and I would not stand in a way if she wins the crown that time.

LAURA LEHMANN (1st Runner Up) - Laura is probably the fresh face I was looking for during the contest. I didn't actually expect her to be in the Top 7, but I guess she wooed the judges enough to land a 1st Runner Up spot. At 20, she can either join Hannah in joining next year or wait for 2 to 3 years before joining again, that time I think she will be Aces and Queens top bet.

PARUL SHAH - Bb. Pilipinas Tourism - Parul's 2nd try and a crown probably served as a vindication for her non-placement last year. However, with MTQI still on peril, will an Exotic beauty like Parul make it in China?

KRIS TIFFANY JANSON - Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental - Kris is highly placed in the Top 5 so I believe she has a greater chance of conquering Miss Intercontinental despite the fact that there is no BPCI titleholder yet (She is the first) to ask to.

YVETHE MARIE SANTIAGO - Bb. Pilipinas Supranational - Most of you will probably place Yvethe highly before the contest, I think she is the complete package and can be Miss Universe but I think Madam Stella and the judges thought of otherwise by bringing Yvethe to Miss Supranational 2014.

MARY ANNE BIANCA GUIDOTTI - Bb. Pilipinas International - She may caught you as a Bea Santiago deadringer but Bianca Guidotti will use that to her advantage. The highest A&Q queen for Bb. Pilipinas this year only has a positive mantra towards MI with Bea being around with her. I believe once she enters the Top 15, she has a big chance of gaining a runner-up or a MI crown.

MARY JEAN LASTIMOSA - Miss Universe Philippines - I actually cried when she won, having to follow MJ since 2011 when she was named 2nd Runner Up, this served as an ultimate redemption for her and a fulfillment of her dream. KF brought out the best in her and hopefully, a Miss Universe crown.

SHOCKERS:
- We expect to at least see Pia Wurtzbach in the Top 7.
- Kenneth Santiago's shoe sacrifice.
- Diana Arevalo and Kimverlyn Suiza not making it to the Top 15.

Bb. Pilipinas 2014: 5 crowns at stake with Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental

 

This year's candidates will compete for 5 crowns: Universe, International, Supranational, Tourism and Intercontinental, putting an end to rumors that the Bb. Pilipinas Charities have acquired the franchise to the Europe based pageant run by the World Beauty Organization as confirmed in the Ricky Lo report: Click Ricky Lo report here

In the previous years, Mutya ng Pilipinas is responsible for sending delegates to Miss Intercontinental, last of which is Koreen Medina who placed 3rd Runner Up and was the Queen of Asia & Oceania.  However, Koreen's official title with Mutya ng Pilipinas is Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific-International. Sources note that the Asia Pacific International pageant will return and will be used as the contest for the major winner of Mutya ng Pilipinas this year.

Ticket prices for Bb. Pilipinas Coronation Night 2014 have already been made available. VIP tickets reportedly are not available on sale since they go to the pageant sponsors.

The 51st Edition of Bb. Pilipinas will be on March 30, 2014 and is made brighter by Russian Popstar Emin and the reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler's entry as a judge of the coronation night.

2013 Miss U will take part in Miss Universe Philippines 2014 crowning

Reigning Miss Universe Maria Gabriela Isler is reportedly coming to Manila to join the crowning of the new Miss Universe Philippines at the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 Finals Night on March 30. This was confirmed in a news report by no less than BPCI honcho, Madam Stella Marquez Araneta.

While this means sharing the spotlight with Molly, reigning Miss Universe Philippines and Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner Up Ariella Arida would love to have Molly with her in the crowning.

2013 Miss International Bea Rose Santiago will crown the BBP-International, 2013 Miss Supranational Mutya Datul will crown the Miss Supranational Philippines and Cindy Miranda, a finalist of Miss Tourism Queen International will crown the BBP-Tourism.

1) When is application period?
BPCI will start accepting applications on Monday, Dec 16, from 10am-5pm. BPCI Office is located at Uniprom, near Red Gate of Araneta Coliseum. We will accept applications from Monday - Friday. Deadline for submission is on January 15, 2014

2) Where do we get the application form?
Forms will be available at the BPCI Office upon application.  Applicants will have to fill up the form at the BPCI office.
3) What should you bring? Please provide original copies + one photocopy

• Proof of citizenship
  • For natural-born citizen, Born in the Philippines - birth certificate and Philippine passport, if applicable.
  • Balikbayan Who Re-Acquired Philippine Citizenship Under R.A. 9225 - Birth Certificate or Report of Birth; and Identification certificate issued by the Bureau of Immigration.
  • Natural-Born Citizen Born Outside the Philippines - Report of Birth issued by the Philippine Consulate in the country of Birth; or NSO certificate stating that birth was reported by the Philippine consulate and recorded in the Philippines.
• Proof of Residency
  • Valid ID showing residency in the Philippines for those who have not resided outside the country.
  • For those who have resided outside the Philippines, valid ID showing Philippine address plus any of the following :

This year has been incredible for Binibining Pilipinas, the Gold Batch lead by Ariella Arida, Bea Rose Santiago, Cindy Miranda and Mutya Johanna Datul surely left up to its name making their "mother", Madam Stella Marquez Araneta extremely proud. Ara continued the streak at the Miss Universe, making it a 4 peat, Bea won the 5th Miss International crown for the Philippines, Cindy Miranda's inclusion in the Top 10 of Miss Tourism Queen International is something to be proud of while of course, the first Asian to win Miss Supranational, Mutya made this year a fruitful golden year for BPCI.

Things will surely heat up for Bb. Pilipinas 2014 with all the things that happened this year. Will Pia Wurtzbach file for another try? Will Parul Shah and Hannah Ruth Sison give Binibini another go? Pilipinas Queens for 2014 for this year, 4 crowns are up for grabs: Miss Universe Philippines, Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Tourism and Bb. Pilipinas Supranational.

They will start accepting applications from December 16 to December 30 which is their set deadline for applications.
