Miss Grand Philippines 2014: Separate pageant or Highest JDV's girl in Bb. Pilipinas 2014?

Image

On the maiden edition of Miss Grand International 2013, Philippines had a handpicked bet, a John Dela Vega ward in Bb. Pilipinas 2012 1st Runner Up Annalie Forbes. Ali didn't fail to disappoint as she was 3rd Runner Up in the competition won by Janelee Chaparro.

For this year, there were talks of a separate Miss Grand Philippines pageant or the highest John Dela Vega ward currently a contestant to Bb. Pilipinas 2014 (except for the titleholder).

Whatever it is, Miss Grand International has surely been a promising competition on its maiden edition and we'll pretty much cover what there is once the delegate has been named.

Mercegrace Raquel is Miss Humanity International Philippines for 2013

Just when she thought she would be coming back to her old life, Bb. Pilipinas 2013 candidate Mercegrace Raquel is off to Barbados, this time for Miss Humanity International 2013.

If the pageant is not familiar to you, Miss Humanity International is a pageant that promotes beauty on a mission. While the pageant is not as big name as others, the opportunity to represent the country is something girls look forward to. For our country, John Dela Vega is the go-to-guy of Miss Humanity International and for 2 years, he has appointed successful delegates in Czarina Catherine Gatbonton (2011) and Ayelee Marie Dasalla (2012) who were both part of Miss Humanity International Top 5.

We wish Mercegrace the luck in the Barbados contest and hopefully, she may get the chance to win the crown.

Thanks to Mark R. for commenting that Mercegrace Raquel is from Nueva Ecija, just like reigning Bb. Pilipinas Tourism Joanna Cindy Miranda, the beauty of Nueva Ecijanos! :)

Pageant Watch: Nicole Schmitz and Ayelee Marie Dasalla

The last quarter of this year is still loaded with a lot of pageants where Philippines have selected their representatives this year. For the month of October, it is Nicole Schmitz and Ayelee Marie Dasalla taking the Philippine sash with them for the Miss International and Miss Humanity International 2012 pageants respectively.

Nicole Schmitz (Miss Philippines International 2012) is done with her send-off and she's now off to Okinawa, Japan. The 23 year old beauty queen is more than ready to attend the activities from October 1  to the finals date October 21 where Filipinos hope that Nicole can grab the 5th crown for the country (Philippines boast of 4 Miss International titleholders, Gemma Cruz Araneta, Aurora Pijuan, Melanie Marquez and Precious Lara Quigaman). She was previously interviewed and when asked what she would do if she won the crown, she said that she would be boarding the first plane back home to share the crown with her "kababayans".

The crown is currently held by Fernanda Cornejo of Ecuador.

She may not have gotten the YAY during the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 but she is still representing the Philippines to Barbados as Miss Humanity International Philippines 2012. Ayelee Marie Dasalla, a product of Bataan was chosen by John Dela Vega, national director in the Philippines to compete after he has fielded in one of her prized jewels in Czarina Gatbonton last year where the later was 2nd Runner Up in the premier edition.

The crown is held by Karabello Mokoalla of Lesotho. Pageant date is October 28.
