Approved PBA Trades - Japeth gets wish to be traded

AKTV/Paul Ryan Tan

The PBA Office has approved the following trades which involve Global Port Batang Pier (on 2 different transactions)

1. A direct swap that brings Rabeh Al Hussaini to Talk and Text for the very controversial Japeth Aguilar who gets his wish to be traded, He is now with Global Port Batang Pier.

2. Meralco dealt Solomon Mercado, JP Belencion, Yousif Aljamal and Kelly Nabong for Global Port's Rey Guevarra, Josh Vanlandingham, Vic Manuel and a 2015 draft pick.

Both camps, Meralco and Global Port find this trade healthy as it is their way of rebuilding their team.

Sol Mercado has expressed on his Twitter account that he has been grateful for the playing time/growth given to him by Meralco and expressed his excitement as he plays with Batang Pier stars Gary David and Willie Miller.

Meanwhile, Rabeh Al Hussaini would be reunited with college mentor Norman Black in Tropang Texters.

With the trade, Japeth should play his A-game with Batang Pier because this is what he wanted.

Who wins? That we can find out as PBA Commissioner's Cup tips off February 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Trade Sealed: Mike Cortez reunites with Franz Pumaren at Air 21, Yousif Taha to Ginebra

Photo: INTERAKTV

Coach Franz Pumaren is definitely the happiest coach right now getting his wish before Christmas, a dependable point guard in Mike Cortez. Mike would come from a trade to Ginebra in exchange for a reliable rookie, Yousif Taha which is Ginebra's call to their thin front line.

Ginebra would be missing the services of Dylan Ababou (ACL) for 6 months, Allein Maliksi, Jayjay Helterbrand and Kerby Raymundo would be coming from sick bay. Yousif would be great as proven to his play in the first few games, but has seen limited playing time to Rob Reyes, who played excellently last game against his former team Petron Blaze

KG Canaleta goes to Air 21 in a 3 team 7 man player trade

The PBA on Thursday morning approved the proposed trade featuring seven players and two draft picks among Air 21, Ginebra, and Petron.

In the deal, the Express will receive Petron big men Noy Baclao and Rob Reyes and Ginebra wingmen KG Canaleta and John Wilson; Petron will receive center Magi Sison, guard Paolo Hubalde, and a 2014 second round pick from Air 21; and Ginebra will receive Elmer Espiritu and Air 21′s first round pick in 2013.
