PBA All Star Weekend Laoag Recap Friday

The PBA Contingent started to heat up Laoag City as early as Wednesday, gracious hosts from Ilocos Norte includes Governor Imee Marcos, Congressman Rudy Farinas and Laoag Mayor Michael Farinas. The event for the PBA Contingent lead by PBA Commissioner Chito Salud was not just about basketball, it was filled with fun + public service.

THE SIDE EVENTS (Friday, May 11) :


Obstacle Challenge Winner: Jonas Villanueva (three-time)

B-Meg's Jonas Villanueva won his third straight Obstacle Challenge title by just two-tenths of a second with Rain or Shine Elasto Painters Paul Lee (His time was 31.3 while Lee was 31.1)

Finishing third was LA Tenorio who had finished the final round with 43 seconds

Other participants: Air 21's Jojo Duncil, Petron Blaze's Alex Cabagnot, Ginebra's Rob Labagala, Meralco's Chris Ross and Powerade's JV Casio.



Three Point Shootout Champion: Mark Macapagal (three-time)

Meralco's Mark Macapagal also retained the three-point shootout title as he has beaten in the finals Marcio Lassiter (Petron), KG Canaleta (Ginebra) and Josh Urbiztondo (B-Meg)


Greats vs. Stalwarts (Greats winning 144-139)

It is a joyous feeling for us the fans to see the legends play and prove why they were included in the best players of the league as they had teamed up with current PBA players. B-Meg Assistant Coach Johnny Abarrientos who played for the Stalwarts had a triple-double performance while Petron Coach Ato Agustin was adjuged as MVP of the exhibition game with 19 points.
PBA Greats (143) – Miller 29, Canaleta 21, Seigle 20, Mercado 19, Agustin 19, Cortez 10, Yeo 8, Lastimosa 7, Racela 6, Patrimonio 4.
PBA Stalwarts (139) – Duremdes 29, Chan 18, Cardona 17, Taulava 16, Caidic 15, Simon 14, Baguio 11, Abarrientos 10, Anthony 9, Isaac 0.
