Kapamilya comedian Vice Ganda's two concerts made him the highest-paid concert artist ever who performed at the Araneta Coliseum, according to a concert producer.
In a report by the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), actor-turned-concert producer Joed Serrano said he paid Vice P2 million for his first major concert, "May Nag-Text... Yung Totoo, Vice Ganda sa Araneta" last 2010.
The report said Vice at first didn't want to hold a concert at the Big Dome, because the venue was too large. But when Joed dared him and offered him a blank cheque, he said Vice wrote P2 million just to stop him from making Vice do a concert.
But Joed accepted the cheque and luckily, the risk paid off. Vice's next concert, "Eto Na, Vice Ganda. Todong Sample Sa Araneta" also was a success, as the "It's Showtime" host was reportedly paid P3 million. Joed said he grossed P14 million on Vice's concerts.
The report also said Joed will next produce the concert of another comedian, impersonator Ate Gay at the SM Mall of Asia Arena with a tentative date of November 30.
