Even with Cancer, Mark Gil insisted to play Dante Ramos in The Legal Wife

When the late Mark Gil was offered to  play the role of Dante Ramos on The Legal Wife, He knew already he was ill. 

The late Mark Gil or Ralph John Eigenmann in the real life was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2012 but requested to keep his ailment a secret according to the statement read by his brother Michael De Mesa. 

For most part, according to Director Rory Quintos, Gil never looked sick, it was only during the time when the series was about to be finished in June that they noticed that the actor has lost a lot of weight - the same time he learned that the cancer was terminal. 

Mark Gil can be remembered as a great actor, not just in The Legal Wife but in his many other movies and TV shows he has done in the past. 

Gil is survived by his parents Eddie Mesa and Rosemarie Gil, siblings Cherie Gil and Michael de Mesa, wife Maricar and their daughter Stephanie Cheri, and his five other children from three past relationships.
