17 man Gilas pool named for FIBA-Asia

 

National Team Head Coach Chot Reyes reveals his Gilas pool for FIBA-Asia come August 

National Team Head Coach Chot Reyes has revealed his 17 man training pool for August's PBA championship which was later on confirmed by PBA's official Twitter account (@pbaconnect).

The list includes most of which he was with during the Jones Cup:

Seven players from Talk and Text Tropang Texters, the team he used to handle prior to his coaching the national team: Jayson Castro, Jimmy Alapag, Kelly Williams, Jared Dillinger, Ranidel De Ocampo, Ryan Reyes and Larry Fonacier.

Jones Cup mainstays are handpicked in: Jeff Chan and Gabe Norwood (Rain or Shine), Sonny Thoss (Alaska) and Jones Cup MVP La Tenorio (Ginebra)

Also making the Gilas pool is Petron Blaze's June Mar Fajardo, naturalized center Marcus Douthit, San Mig Coffee's Marc Pingris and Chot's former player, Japeth Aguilar who has been traded to Global Port Batang Pier for Rabeh Al Hussaini.

From the Gilas cadets, Big man Greg Slaughter from ADMU made the pool.

Coach Chot thanked PBA players who was there during the time they were needed to:
KG Canaleta (Air21), Sol Mercado (GlobalPort), Enrico Villanueva (Barako Bull Energy), Mac Baracael (Barangay Ginebra), Jay-ar Reyes (Meralco) and Ronjay Buenafe (Meralco).
