Miss Universe Thailand resigns just one month because of social media fire

 

Miss Universe Thailand Weluree Ditsayabut resigns just one month after being crowned that would eventually give her the opportunity to represent her country to the Miss Universe 2014 pageant.

The former talk show host and actress said that she was pleased to won the title, but because of comments on social media about her outspoken political views that she posted on her Facebook page before she won the pageant. “You Red Shirts, you get out of here,” and it continues, “Thailand’s soil is dirty because of anti-monarchy people like you,” she wrote mid-November last year and it garnered hurtful comments that affected her family especially her mother.

On the news conference that happened she said: “When I saw my mom not being able to sleep at night, I couldn’t either.”

Miss Universe Thailand 1st Runner Up Pimbongokod "Ellie" Chankaew replaces Ditsayabut and would compete in Miss Universe 2014.
