The names that were involved in today's trade may not be as big as Marcio Lassiter but it proved to be a shocker to PBA fans, especially for the Petron Blaze Boosters and the Barako Bull Energy camp. It involved an exchange of players with Chico Lanete going to the Petron camp while Marc Agustin going to Barako Bull Energy
First let me give you a rundown of what Petron and Barako would get:
PETRON BLAZE: Chico Lanete
Chico Lanete is a point guard from Ormoc City, Philippines. He was an undrafted signee of then the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants in 2007 and throughout his career has jumped teams: Giants, Ginebra Kings, Whoopers, Powerade Tigers, Meralco Bolts and Barako Bull Energy. He gives offense and defense for each team that he plays to.
Chico reunites with his Harbour Centre teammates, Joseph Yeo and Rob Reyes.
BARAKO BULL: Marc Agustin
Marc Agustin plays small-forward/power forward from San Fernando, Pampanga, He probably had the greatest pressure having to play for his father, Petron Blaze Boosters Coach Ato Agustin and get compared to a dad who was a 1992 PBA MVP. Considered by majority of fans as "lucky" for having playing time in an all-star calibre team like the Blaze Boosters, Marc would now have the chance to prove that he is Marc Agustin and he can make a name for himself as a defensive and maybe, an offensive guy.
WINNER or LOSER?
I would like to say no one lost in this trade. Marc's game can progress with Barako, He's young and definitely can be trade by Coach Junel Baculi. Chico's presence for the Blaze Boosters is not to add for another "security agency" - factory of the guards as they say, Chico has a good offense-defense game which could help the likes of Alex Cabagnot and Dennis Miranda.
FANS REACT:
Different reactions came upon the approval of this trade: Many PBB fans wished Marc goodluck through Twitter, while the FB fanpage of Barako Bull Energy were asking their fans if they got what Chico was worth, even ended up calling SMC as "BUWAYA".
I just hope for both this players to improve with their new teams. Basketball is BUSINESS and Basketball is not PERMANENT, even if the Head Coach is your father. Looking forward to see the improvement of Lanete's and Agustin's game.

You have a good blog for PBA News. Thank you for this. At least we know that they are some blogs like this for the updates of our idols in PBA.
