Finnish company Nokia has announced four new
phones at the
Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
They are, in order of
increasing price, the Nokia 105, Nokia 301, the Lumia 520, and the Lumia 720.
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said the four new phones will be low to mid-range devices targeting "None-LTE markets." No super-phone made was announced.
Approximately only $20 (P800), the Nokia 105 is the successor to the
Nokia 1280. It will feature a splash-proof and dust-proof keypad, FM radio, built-in flashlight and a one-charge-per-month battery life.
The Nokia 301 features Exchange support for email, an upgraded browser,
apps like Twitter, ebuddy, and whatsapp. Its price is approximately $85
(P3,440).
One of the two latest Lumia phones, the Lumia 520, will
feature exchangeable shells in "multitude" of colors, 4" super touch
display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 8 GB board storage, and a
5-megapixel auto-focus camera. Its price is approximately $183 (P7,320).
The Lumia 720 meanwhile will feature a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, a
screen of 4.3" super touch display, a camera with 6.7 megapixel sensor,
and a uni-body design that will allow memory card expansion. It will
head to
China and various Asia-Pacific regions with a cost pegged at $341 (P13,640).
