The rains are due to the northeast monsoon affecting Luzon, state weather bureau PAGASA said. Moderate to heavy rainfall was observed over Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan and Zambales, and most likely to continue for the next 3 hours.
