Trade Proposal: Powerade's Super Rookie Lassiter to Petron for Baclao & Guevarra

After the successful defense of the Talk and Text Tropang Texters of their Philippine Cup championship, rumor has it that Powerade's franchise would be back to the SMC fold as its 4th team in the league (they once had Coca Cola before), but even if there is no clarification as of yet whether Powerade would be under the SMC umbrella, the opposing teams made waves as there would be a trade between Super Rookie Marcio Lassiter of Powerade Tigers to Petron's 2010 1st and 3rd Draft Picks, Noy Baclao and Rey Guevarra.

(I think this picture started it all.. hahaha, what's wrong with a Tiger drinking beer.. San Miguel is one hell of a great-tasting beer... Come on? - Photo grabbed from @LadyLassiter13 by @snowbadua)

(The blog owner with Noy Baclao and Rey Guevarra during one of PBB's games last December, Will this be the last time I would see them in PBB uniforms?)

This is still a trade proposal as it is subject for the approval of the Commissioner's Office, however, a lot have continuously reacted, in both positive and negative ways regarding this trade. Here are some reactions that I've read in fanpages, Twitter and Facebook. They actually contributed to the load that Twitter has.
First reaction: for Petron's Noy and Rey, even though they belonged to the 2010 top picks, they do not deserve to be traded for a guy who had superb showing like Marcio.
Yes, they might not score in bunches but please do not forget what Rey and Noy can do. If you would look at the background of Noy Baclao and Rey Guevarra, particularly during their college years, they are potent players and great defenders. Noy once lead the Blue Eagles in rebounds and defense purposes. Rey can shoot from the perimeter and was a slam-dunking champion during his heydays in Letran, However upon their arrival to Petron, they were outshadowed by the likes of Arwind Santos, Chris Lutz, Rob Reyes and playing time was actually limited.

Second reaction: SMC = GREED
If this trade consummated, in the eyes of many, SMC = GREED, they are greedy of getting good players to add to their titles and what a way to do it but for Petron, the San Miguel franchise who has 19 conference titles. Do you think this as of GREED? Come on PBA fans... speak...
Third reaction: Stupid Powerade Management
<I beg to erase this comment, it's up to you to decide, but then, for me, they are not stupid.>

and many more.... Actually if I list them all, this blog post would be a novel.

Powerade players have also reacted heavily in Twitter. I don't blame them, Marcio is Marcio. The 5th Best Player for the All Filipino Cup.

No Final Word yet regarding this trade, but if it pursues, I think somebody would be added on the trading picture (if Commissioner Salud does not see it balance). For now, I would like to say that I want to see Noy and Rey in a Boosters uniform nonetheless. The team still waits for the comeback of Jay Washington my goodness.

Powerade, my hats off for a wonderful Philippine Cup showing. I know you are very much a contender.

I'm a fan of  both teams... I would like to see "FAIRNESS", but I'm sure it could not make everybody happy.
