UPLB grad Alyssa Asilo awarded posthumous degree

A rare disease took the life of University of the Philippines-Los Banos (UPLB) graduate Alyssa Asilo, but her school did not find death as a hindrance to conforming her degree. The 23-year-old Alyssa already finished all her academic requirements, including internships and a thesis, before she died of leukemia last April 6. The UPLB awarded a posthumous Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree to Alyssa, who re-enrolled in the college after taking a leave of absence for a year due to the rare type of cancer she had.   It wasn't a happy affair at all after a win for Blackwater last Tuesday.
