The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed a tax evasion case against Kapuso actress Solenn Heussaff for failing to supply correct information in her tax returns in 2011.
The complaint, which was filed before the Department of Justice, addressed Solenn's P3.6 million deficiency tax liability (including surcharge and interest), a violation of sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended (Tax Code).
The BIR said Solenn, Solenn Marie Adea Heussaff in real life, declared a gross income of only P6.73 million and a taxable income of P3.3 million in 2011, an underdeclaration against her received income payments which amounted to P13.38 million.
Solenn had listed her home and business addresses in high-class communities Forbes Park and DasmariƱas Village. She is known for her multiple endorsements, TV shows, and films.
Aside from Solenn, the BIR also filed charges against her accountant Teofilo C. Magno, Jr. for his certification of his client's financial statement.
In a tweet, Solenn said she is an honest person and that she has to fix the mistake made by someone else.
I'm an honest person. As transparent as it gets. Someone made a mistake and I have to fix it .[News as posted at: Reyn's Room]
