Kim Chiu's mother dies

The mother of Kapamilya star and former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate Kim Chiu has died.

The 50-year-old Louella Yap Chiu died yesterday in a private hospital in Cebu.

According to veteran showbiz columnist Ricky Lo, Mrs. Chiu recently suffered stroke. Kim's camp however has not disclosed yet Mrs. Chiu's cause of death.

It was also not known yet when Mrs. Chiu was admitted to the hospital.

Kim Chiu, as of the moment, does not want to be interviewed regarding her mother's death.

Kim and her siblings have not seen their mother since their parents' separation. Their grandmother on their father's side took care of them and sent them to school.

She decided to join reality show Pinoy Big Brother and won in 2006.
