TNT Players Boycot All-Star Weekend?

The contigent from the 9 other PBA teams had made its way to the All-Star Weekend in Laoag, but it is pretty obvious about the lack of TNT contingent in the events.

Jimmy Alapag, Kelly Williams, and Japeth Aguilar were slated to play in the Veterans versus Rookies-Sophomores-Juniors game, while Ranidel De Ocampo was part of the lineup for the Greats versus Stalwarts matchup.

Chot Reyes was expected to coach the Veterans in the All-Star Game but begged off because of duties to the national team (Smart Gilas 2)

Also in several news articles over the web, TNT executives had been fuming about the Game 7 officiating of the recently concluded Commissioner's Cup Finals, especially on the dying seconds when the referees called a foul that put Denzel Bowles on the free throw line in what has been supposedly a done deal for the Tropang Texters.

A source close to the TNT Management said that the players were asked not to participate in the weekend.

TNT owner Manny V. Pangilinan and Governor Ricky Vargas expressed their dismay over PBA officiating.

To quote Mr. MVP's interview "“May karapatan kang magsalita kung feeling mo agrabyado ka. Ano, tatahimik na lang kami? Hindi naman tama yun."

To cut the strings straight, TNT has 5 straight finals appearances and 3 titles won.
