New EDSA bus segregation scheme rolled out

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday, December 18, started the implementation of new bus segregation scheme along the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).

Not only to decongest vehicular traffic, the new scheme would also reduce travel time and orderly loading and unloading of passengers along the 23.8-kilometer long EDSA, MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said.

The MMDA has also started its information campaign on the scheme to educate the public and prevent confusion among passengers and bus drivers. The department put stickers on the public utility buses (PUB) to delineate various routes.

The chart above classifies the buses as either "Bus A" or "Bus B."

Alabang-bound PUBs will have to use the Bus stop A, while Baclaran-bound PUBs will make use of the Bus stop B.

The MMDA has designated Bus stop C or "all stop buses," which will be used to accommodate short distance travels.
