Ervic Vijandre attacked, suffers head injury during election campaign

Kapuso actor Ervic Vijandre suffered a head injury after being attacked by a group of identified men while campaigning Saturday morning in Taguig City.

In an interview, the 27-year-old model-athlete told GMA News they were doing house-to-house campaign around 9 to 10 a.m. in Brgy. Tuktukan when suddenly around 20 to 30 men in bonnet attacked them.

"Nagpaulan sila ng bato… Tinataboy nila kami... Pinalo kami na parang aso," he said. The report added around 15 of his campaign supporters also suffered injuries.

“Sa akin nga mild lang, 'yung sa iba may surgery pa. May pinalo sa mukha ng dos por dos," he said, who head injury required four-stitches.

He and his group were taken to St. Luke's Medical Center in Global City for medication.

Ervic is running as a councilor in the First District of Taguig City.
